Charlie Appleby has his sights set on Another Success from the Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes, since he Guesses the unbeaten Pinatubo for Its Group One showpiece in the Curragh on Sunday week.
Even the Shamardal colt has been a hugely impressive performance from the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood and most recently among the celebrities from the division, winning all four of his starts to date.
Appleby struck 12 months ago – that a son of Dubawi, who himself won the race for Godolphin.
The Newmarket trainer told irishchampionsweekend.ie:”We’re on course, all works nicely with Pinatubo and this race has ever been our goal.
“He has been satisfying us at home and the only issue could be if the earth were really analyzing, however he managed requirements fine at Goodwood and that he should be all systems go to the Curragh.
“He’s the ideal profile to currently be going into Group One company and, four from four, obviously he’s exciting. He is spot on temperamentally and it was pleasant to win the race. We won it last year with Quorto and (Godolphin) had last won the race with his dadDubawi.”
Opposition into the Appleby-trained runner might comprise Ger Lyons’ also-unbeaten Siskin, who had been last seen winning the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh.
Appleby added:”This will be a race together with at least two arousing colts as Ger Lyons’ Siskin has looked very good and he will probably be happier on a decent surface although he won testing ground last moment.
“It was wonderful to win that race last year and I am really excited about it, with Pinatubo hopefully on course to the Dewhurst at Newmarket after it”
